Klerk wins TNBA western

Columbia 300 amateur staff bowler Chris Klerk won The National Bowling Association “Bill Rhodman” Singles Classic, Western Division on March 6, in Las Vegas.

Armed with the Columbia 300, Klerk edged out Steven Villanueva by 31 pins, 206-175.

Klerk, who has been with the Columbia 300 family for about 5 years, will compete in the 68th annual TNBA National Championship Tournament on May 21-31 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The top bowler from the four regions will represent its senate in the championship. Klerk is a member of the Phoenix Senate.

“Columbia 300 is proud to have Chris on its staff, it’s nice to see the guys that have stuck with us a long time having success with the new product,” Columbia 300 Brand Manager Chad Murphy said. “We wish him the best of luck at the national tournament.”

The annual event began as a way for the association to give amateur bowlers a chance to experience a pro-type tournament, according to the organization’s Web site, http://www.tnbainc.org. The next TNBA tournament is set for March 20-22 in New Castle, Del.
