Veteran Columbia 300 Bowler Rolls Double Sixes in Four Months

HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. - JC Zuniga, a veteran Columbia 300 bowler, is definitely using the brand’s ‘New Era’ to his advantage. An Odessa, Texas resident, he has rolled double sixes, six 300 games and six 800 series, since December 2007. His 868 series at Diamond Lanes on March 12 broke the previous city record of 845.
“I am very honored to be bowling with the Columbia 300 brand,” said Zuniga who attended college with Chad Murphy, Columbia 300 brand manager, and calls John Jowdy his mentor. “I’ve always been a Columbia guy. Every ball that they have released performs to the level Columbia 300 markets it to be.”
Zuniga is a former employee of Columbia Industries and is currently on the Columbia 300 regional staff. A bowler since the age of three, Zuniga won a Vegas sweeper with a White Dot in February and he credits Chris Hayden, pro bowler and employee at Diamond Lanes’ Pro Shop, for his success.
“I went and bowled a tournament and my hand was completely torn up. Chris started working with me and went with me to Vegas. He made some suggestions and lengthened my span and I immediately bowled an 815 in the Diamond Lanes Jack and Jill Mixed League. The following night, I threw 868 in the center’s City Industrial League and broke the city record and also my personal best of 845.”
Zuniga also uses the Resurgence and Momentum frequently and works with Latin American star and Columbia 300 staff member, Clara Guerrero, at various M.Am.B.O tournament booths on behalf of the brand.
